I want to buy a AV receiver and have £2000 to spend.

I`m after a full rich sound from movies & music with no cooling fan noise & DAB fitted if possible.

I have a B&W speaker system.2 XT2s at the front a XTC centre 2 M1s at the rear plus a PV1 sub.

Your guidence would be appreciated. Thanks.

At £2k the LX83 from Pioneer would be at the top of my list. Massive step up from the outgoing models.

The forthcoming Anthem MRX700 (£2k) will be another contender due to the amazing room eq . I would also consider the new Yamaha RXV3067 (£1500) as it will give Z7 performance or better.

How is the pioneer a massive step up from the outgoing models, Nick?

Thanks

It just has more of everything Gel. The 2ch performance is improved, the control in surround sound is improved. The btisream PQLS system then takes the 10/10 sound and polishes it further. We have an 81 and an 82 in store and the 83 really sounds more like an LX90 that the 82.

Obviously the 83 will have a ceiling on the speakers it can run where the LX90 will take that further.
