Hello everyone. I am new to the What HiFi forums but have been reading the magazine here in America for years.

Here is my question/problem/predicament: I have an Onkyo TX-SR 605 receiver/amp and I would like to biamplify my Kef IQ5 front speakers. The speakers are currently biwired. I would like to know whether or not I need to purchase new sets of cables or may I use my existing cables to "biamp" my speakers. I have checked the manual but would like to hear from someone who knows exactly what I mean.

Well. if you currently have 2-to-4 biwires to each speaker - two plugs at the amp end, and 4 at the speaker end - all you have to do is split the cables at the amp end, making sure you know which pair of conductors go to the treble and which to the bass, then hook up and select biamp according to the manual, and the job's done.

If you have 4-to-4, it's even easier...

Thanks for the info. I am glad to hear that I may not have to spend another 100 or more on cables!
