Current System: Onkyo TX-NR3008, Pioneer BDP-S370 blue-ray, B&W 684 speaker package, 684 fronts, 685 rears, centre and 610 sub. I would like to enhance my stereo capabilities. Thinking of buying the Marantz CD5004 and a pro-ject or Rega turn table. Now: should I consider getting a stereo pre-amp and utilise the power through the Onkyo, or should I rather separate the stereo system from the home cinema completely, i.e seperate amp and speakers? If so, how?

Hi Ronald,

Welcome to the forum

You might want to consider moving your post to the HiFi forum section. It may stand a better chance of getting more responses. This area tends to be for people who are posting pictures of their pride and joy's.

Just to throw a bit of a curved ball at this, Meridian = best of both worlds. If you don't mind second hand, there are some bargains to be had.

It was a dilemma (minus the turntable) for me also which was instantly solved by going in that direction.
