Hi,

Building work finished, I'm now finally ready to go out and buy the components. The room is 5.2m x 5m and will be a dedicated home cinema.

I am going to see the JVC DLA-X55R on Monday, having seen the X35 already I think think this will be the one I go for.

I'm thinking of the Pioneer SC-LX76 but am a little lost on what speakers to go for. I have always liked B&W speakers and see that the CM9 package with the CM5's has a good review on here. I could save some money and go for the CM8's & CM1's.

Given the size of room, not sure whether I should go for 5.1 or 7.1. I've read a few posts on this subject before and many have recommended staying at 5.1 but bi-amping the fronts. I dont know too much about this so would appreciate any suggestions. This will be used predominantly for movies.

Also with the subwoofer, the B&W's come with the ASW-10CM, I have seen other forums suggesting Monolith sub's or using 2 10" subs.

Lasty, the position of the projector, would this be better on a stand or on the ceiling?

before going down the HiFi speaker route, if its a dedicated Home Cinema i`d suggest having a demo of some AV speakers such as the new MK range

the JVC is a great projector and so is the X35 and should give you an excellent image in a dark treated for light room, also check out the Sony HW50 and the new lower priced VW95, superb.....

choose the sub carefully as well as it will make or break the audio setup in your room, their are some great subs out their, JL, MK (new range) and KK

all are great subs but still need careful setting up, if they aren`t then this could cause boominess and localisation which you definately don`t want, running dual subs will give a more even room response but 1 good sub setup correctly will always be better than 2 mediocre ones

the pj can be placed eitherway but its much neater on a close to celing mount, have you run all the cables yet ?

Thanks for the comments.

Is there a great difference between the LX76 & LX86, my local dealer seemed to indicate that the 76 was sufficient for the CM9 package?

I will try and sample some of the other speaker packages, but if I do stick with the B&W route, do you think the CM9's will be to much for my room? (5m x 5.2m)
