HIFIMAN HE-1000

I have read that the HE-400i give a 90 to 95% reproduction of the HE-1000. Do you think this is true ?

I already own the HE-400i and would not fork out £2100 on headphones that are only 5 - 10% better.

Or are they just mind blowing.

I would think it is true, although is that 5 to 10% in detail, quality, soundstage, bass, midrange, tone, comfort or other? Massdrop have the 350 (a re-badge of the now discontinued 300 for $99.99 delivered US, plus $14.99 to the UK. No affiliation by the way. I've just bought these along with AKG553.

If I were to take a guess the treble would be better and the bass would go down deeper with less punch, however the mids would be similar. This is what is said about the HE-560. I would think the same applies to these. Its just such a shame because I am the type of person to blow that money if it were next level stuff, as it is I think I would die. Knowing I can have a 95% experience with the 400i's.

However there alot of reviews with full star ratings. It doesn't make sense at these insane prices.
