Am I really going to hear a noticeable difference in sound quality if I mount my hi-fi on a £500 rack from a specialist rather than a £50 rack from Homebase or Ikea?

Thats interesting both my racks are glass and i can't say i've noticed any problems.
I experienced even worse. It was a kind of ringing in my ears especially in the mids. It was very bad. Immediately I returned to my Target rack the problem was gone. I sold the glass rack the next day. Actually I remember clearly, it took about two days for my hearing getting back to normal.eagle123 said:like the poster above i have a ataccama evoque 60-40 se the dark bamboo version, previously i had a glass rack from argos about £50.
having spent over £800 on the rack i was sceptical that there be a difference, as compared to my cheapo glass rack, There is a sonic difference as the bamboo is a good insulator of sonic noise ie hum, what that does to the sound is first of all the noise floor is reduced and you tend to hear more of the music than before,
try a demo first, but you be pleasantly surprised.
