I currently have a Technics SL-PG390 CD player and a Technics V500 MkII stereo amp. Connected to the amp are a pair of Cresta II speakers plus a pair of small Genexxa Pro X7 speakers. I intend to keep my current speakers if and when I have to upgrade my amp and/or my CD player. So my question is this:-

Given that I like the warm sound that my current components give me, what would be the best options for a new amp and/or CD player in order to most closely replicate the sound I get at the moment?

Errr, don't bother?

If you like the way it all sounds now, why do you want to upgrade?

If that's not much use then the only advice I can offer is: audition audition audition...

its a valid point - what are you looking to improve upon given you like the sound now - this will help direction of replies

interestingly i was talking to a Jordan Acoustics recently about upgrading my speakers and the question i got asked was - what dont you like about your system as it is ?

i was stumped to be honest and had to reply i liked everything - so why change something you really like was the response. it made me realise i was embarking on an upgrade for the sake of upgrading.

i am not saying my current system cannot be improved, but for the outlay needed and my considered response it was evident that caution was required

all that said the new Neat Petite SX range and the Kudos XS are now both a tempting listen for me

anyway have a think about what you are looking to achieve
