have rotel ra820ax amp 30w pc. how good a pair of speakers will it drive ? because of its age im struggling to find info on what sort of thing i should pair it with, without overdoing it too much. currently using ae aegis2 but i want to upgrade and have been looking at b&w 685 but i think the review says they need a hefty amp. if not any reccomendations, or will it drive above that price range ? i dont mind going slightly higher than i should, as eventually ill upgrade to an amp that will grow into them - this maybe the first building block.

I think most speakers should be fine, but you could have a look at the power ratings and sensitivities. I think higher sensitivity ratings are easier to drive.

I'm 'only' using a 50wpc amp and that does fine for my pro-ac's, as did my last amp with B&W speakers.

Heard a cyrus 6 (40wpc i think) having no problems with speakers either.
