Hi guys,

i just bought my first ever stereo amp, the marantz pm6005. after doing hours of online research and listening sessions i've come to the conclusion that the zensor 3's would be a nice fit for the amp. Really love the sound that comes out of it, esp for this price. (400 euros). Zensor 5's were out of my price range.

Now, christmas time, I came across an online deal where the Monitor Audio BX5 are being sold for 450 euros. So i searched for hifi stores in my area where I could audition the BX5's, unfortunately no one could offer this.

The Zensor 3's with good stands would cost arround 500, more expensive than the floorstanders..

I listen to all sorts of music, from RnB to instrumental. My room is quite big so should i go for the Monitor audio's or the Zensor?

As you say you have a big room I would go for the floorstanders. They also have a wider frequency response and the bass would be better.

However it does seem that the sound from speakers is to a very personal thing and the best thing to do would be to audition them if at all possible.

how big is your room ? you say its big but how big because if you want to fill the room with sound then yes you would have to look at floor standing speakers . i had dali 3s they are good speakers but not sure if they will do you if your room is to big . are you from the uk if you are go to richer sounds and buy some and if you do not like them take them back for a full refund as i think they will give you something like 14 days to see if you like them

Had experience with MA BX5 which you can read by searching these forums "Marantz PM66 KI signature system match". Demoed in shop room I would say medium size around 6x5m. Sorry not heard any Dali though.

that is a big room i would say floor standing speakers would be your best bet you could try the dali 3s if you can try some from a dealer and you can take them back but i think in a room that size they would not fill a room with sound but they might as you have a slopping roof that is why say try first . you could try some of the floor standing speakers from dali if you wanted to go with this company but the best thing you could do is go to a hifi dealer and tell him/her your room size and take some cds with you and have a good demo done it is the best way of getting what you want sound wise and to fit your room size .
