Hi,
I am a having a pair of kef q300 and looking for a stereo amplifier with in $500. I listen to soft music, instrumentals, pop, rock. I have rectangular room approximately 200 sq ft. Also would like to add that I am from Kolkata, India so very limited options on the amps. Marantz, yamaha, denon, onkyo, arcam, cambridge audio are the few that are availabe here. Request help

To be honest, everything depends on the prices in your particular market. For example the Arcam A19 is considered a 'better' amplifier than the PM6005 but in the UK it is 'only' twice the price. In another market it might be three times the price, or even the same price, it just depends.

I would also look at the facilities and functionality required, for example in this sort of price range I really like the Yamaha RN500 receiver which has a fantasti. range of functions including networking, radio, airplay etc or you might prefer the pure analogue simplicity of the Arcam A19, or at lower cost the Denon PMA720.

Marantz, Denon and Arcam would be the first port of call based on what you're after. The Q300s aren't hard to drive, so most amplifiers should do a good job. Although, they will improve with better amplification, so don't necessarily settle for the cheapest you can get away with.
