Hi,

long time reader, first time poster...

I Just bought a new SW150 -

Should the LED on the back glow green when in use and red when on standby?

Manual says it should - mine stays red all the time - whether it's playing or not - so I can't tell if it's going into standby properly.

Wharfedale say the manual is misleading...mmmmm,

anyone got any experience of using these?

cheers.

Yes - problem is i can't tell if it's going into standby when not in use because the light doesn't change. I used to own a tannoy TS8 a few years ago and it would switch from green to red when going into standby.

my subwoofer (different brand) takes one second to respond the signal and turn the light into green. you may try to examine your subwoofer by switching it on stanby mode (switch off main power and turn back on for stanby mode), while your receiver turned off. Then, turn the receiver on at zero volume, use test tone dedicated to subwoofer and turn the volume up. You can hear and determine whether your subwoofer is automatically turned on at specific volume (shocking) or it was already turned on since the begining (no shocking).

Shocking means changing from stanby into on.

I don't really know how SW150 does, but i think maybe you want to try
