Help wanted: front speakers (or receiver) stopped working :-(

Hi all,

I've got the following setup:

- Denon AVR-2310

- Totem Dreamcatcher (2 x front)

- Anthony Gallo Nucleus Micro Ti (2 x back)

- Yamaha Subwoofer

The Dreamcatchers at the front are bi-amped. They have worked for a couple of weeks, but since today there's is almost no sound coming from the Dreamcatchers. Only when I crank the volume up to the top, I can hear something faint (but it sounds like what's supposed to come from the rears). The tuner omits completely nothing from the fronts, even when it's maxed out.

The rears and subwoofer still work.

Resetting the receiver did not help. I've also tested several other settings, including normal (as opposed to bi-amped).

Anyone have an idea?

If nobody has a better idea, you'll have to troubleshoot to identify the root cause.

Have you tried connecting the rear cable speakers to the front ones to see whether the problem remains or not? If the problem is still there, then your front speakers are fine and the problem most certainly lies within your amp. If not, something is wrong with your front speakers, or your front speaker cabling.
