Just got myself a set of Wharefdale Diamond 10.3 Floorstanders, in the long run im looking to have a 5 speaker setup,but atm i am just going to run a stereo system. Anyway, im a little confused in choosing an amp, i notice my speakers are 6 ohms with a power rating of 100W. The amp thats caught my eye is the Sony STR-DH810 which is 8 ohms 100W. I have no idea what this means but dont wanna buy the amp and screw the speakers if i decide to blast music one day lol.

If its any relevance to amp choice i plan on buying the Diamond 10.CC center speaker and Diamond 10.SR for rears.

Any advice is appreciated.

If you could afford better get better, lots of amps going half price from last year.

But the sony would drive 6ohm speakers fine, I would be a bit weary if they were 4ohm, but then again it would still drive them fine, just not ideal.

If im being honest probably the most i would pay is £300, im a poor student haha, if anyone can suggest something of this value that would be great
