HELP NEEDED! what tv do i go for!?

There are so many tv's around im doing my own head in deciding what sort to go for! I have got around £1000 to spend on a new tv, could expand to an extra £200 if it would be worth it. Firstly im not to sure what size to go for im thinking 37-42, my seating distance is 3m from tv, what would be the best size to go for? Secondly not sure weather to go for plasma or lcd. Looking around i see that you can get a better deal on plasmas then lcd and read that they show black colours alot better, i watch alot of movies so this would be good as my lcd tv at the mo isnt good with dark scenes, i still hear scarey things about plasmas off people or is there nothing to be worried about? I watch digital freeview at the mo but would like it to be full hd as may get sky hd or free sat soon and also blue ray. Ive seen that alot of panasonic plasmas are getting good reviews, what would be the best model to go for or what other plasmas or lcd would be worth viewing? thank you for your help

At 3m distance, 42" (or bigger, but your budget might not stretch to 46", 50")

Start loking at the Panny 42PX80, just over £600, HD ready, best buy 42" on this site, check the review. The LG 42PG6000 series is also good.

Look at Full HD, the 42PZ80, around £800ish. Can you tell the difference at your viewing distance? If not, save your money and get the PX80.

Panasonics have 5yr free guarantee if bought in the shop (not internet sites, Currys, Comet...)

Thanks for that those where the 2 models i had in mind and was edging towards the pz80. When i thought about buying a new tv i told myself that it needed to be full hd as i thought it would give me alot better picture than just hd ready, after reading the forums on hear i know that it is not always the case, know im depating weather its worth going for the full hd model or just the hd ready one. Ill go and view both tomorrow and decide. What is your view on hd ready or full hd? i hear its worth going for full hd if you are buying 50" 60" tv but debatable on 42". I havent got blue ray player yet so all the gadgets i have at home that will be contected to the tv will not benafit from a full hd tv, unless my upscaling dvd player will put out a lot better pic (that i will notice from 720)? im now not sure! Im also thinking that i may get a better pic from freeview on an hd ready tv than a full hd one, i guess i will just have to make my mind up tomorrow.
