Hi all,

i was all set to purchase a kdl52w3000 but after measuring my seating distance at 3m i feel i may be to abit too near unfortunately i haven't seen a review of the kdl46w3000 my question is for my budget of approx 1600-1800 is that the best my money can buy? first choice for me was an lcd but now i'm quite open minded to plasma any help greatly appreciated

The Sony's great, but with 46in plasmas popping up in shops, i'd have a good hard look at one of those before you buy....

You wont be too near for HD viewing. But I dont know what the Sony is like with SD material.

Typical seating distance is 1.5 to 2.5 x diagonal screen size for 1080 HD.

1.5 x 52 = 78".

2.5 x 52 = 130" (3m = 120")

My feeling is that i need to look at the 42,46,47" sets the sony lcd looked good, to be honest i'd never really considered buying a plasma before reading on this forum but i'm now starting to have a rethink. has anyone got any recommendations for plasma or lcd sets around my budget

I would want a full hd set preferably without the gloss black finish, it will be hooked up with sky hd, and probably the new panasonic blu ray player

Any help would be great thanks

Stu

Snap !

I found the panasonic 46pz85 while reading some other threads its not available as yet from what i can see tho but i'm definately waiting now, i would think it'll blow the sony kdl46w3000 outta the water for similar money

I think i'm in danger of becoming a plasma owner !!

Latest details of the Panasonic models here (follow the link in the story to a more in-depth story on the TVs, too).

We took delivery of the TH46PZ85 yesterday, so expect to see a test soon.
