I have auditioned the creek ,naim 5i and XS.Was very impresed by all the amps an to make things worst the creek and naim werent at same dealer so it s a little hard to really compare.Not sure if I can strech budget to buy the XS so can anyone offer some advice between the destiny and naim 5i.Otherwise if there is a massive improvemnt in the naim XS I guess I will have to wait and save for it..

If you've heard the XS and appreciated the step-up, then definitely wait and save for it, otherwise you'll always have it in the back of your mind and may well end up spending more money in the long run if you buy one of the others now, but eventually end up upgrading to that.

Naim holds its value, so either would be good. I actually wasn't overwhelmed by the XS compared to the 5i, given its extra cost and minimal extra power.

The Creek Destiny should be available at a lower price now that the Destiny 2 is out (see Creek website for details).

I've not heard any Naim amps so can only offer my thoughts on the Destiny. Great clarity, detail, dynamic range and agility. The first time I heard a track from one of my Strauss discs I was startled when it went from a quiet bit to a loud one, something which clearly illustrated a difference between the Creek and my Technics amp.

WHF reviewed the Destiny CD player a couple of years ago - I've got the unit that Creek lent them in my system 🙂 but they've not reviewed the Destiny amp. Maybe they'll review the Destiny 2.....
