Currently in the process of upgrading my hi-fi system to include a new amp and really need some help.

I´m looking at 2nd hand ones a few years old and have narrowed it down to the following:
Audiolab 8000A
Cyrus 7 (or 3i depending on price!)
Arcam Alpha 9

I´m probably going to use a pair of Monitor Audio BR2 for the moment but would be looking to upgrade in the future.

I also spotted a NAD 3020e and Cambridge A5, I don´t think they´re in the same class but would appreciate any views, advice etc

Thanks

Given the list above, I would have to say Audiolab or cyrus (8000a being my choice). Don't go near the A5 - it's not in the same city as the 8000 let alone ballpark, and whilst the 3020e has it's followers, it was always a budget amp whereas the Audiolab and Cyrus were always midrange...

Thanks this is what I was thinking - seem to be quite a few older Audiolab & cyrus amps out there.

I'll go with Slimfast on this one with the Alpha 9 inbetween the 2 camps. I saw an Audiolab for £100 the other day in cash converters. For a little ubder that you get a bargain.
