Just got my new Hegel from Musicraft in Derby today. Playing all my Ripped CDs on Jriver - Playing through Kef R700s

Wow is all i can say - the sound quality improvement over my old Roksan kandy K2 is so big - very hard - explain.

The beat is so more prominent - so fast and catchy - so much time and space between notes - no distortion compared to k2.

the drums are so much more defined and kick louder - you can follow all the instruments easy no more blurring together.

My wife walked in and instantly said that sounds amazing - normaly she asks me to turn it down. her words were pristine and clear.#

all the reverb and echos are so much more easy to follow with so much silence between notes.

also its as if the hegel has climed into the speakers and kicked the bass drivers into action - its like ive upgraded them - they goseem to go much lower but not to the detrement of sound quality

very pleased - thanks to Rick at Musicraft and Steve(cant rememember if 750 or 197something) for recomending this product.

sorry for bad grammer and spelling am now pi....d

Yes for sure i Knew this but am only hearing it now - so happy - and technically I have saved money as I was going to spend £600 - £1000 on a dac so just sold my Denon 2100 Roksan K2 and cd player. now ive got much better SQ

having demod the Mdac - its def on par or better - when i had the hegel demo we were using a £3000 cd player through my Roksan K2 amp and it sounded very good - when we swapped to the hegel we used the same cd as transport and used the hegel dac and the sound quality was much better - due to the better amp but my point is the dac is very good and youll have to spend at least £1000 to better it.

the fact that my wife (who is happy to listen on a laptop) instantly pointed out the jump in sq (without any prompting or 'what do you think') just shows you how good it sounds - also sounds much better in my house than at musicraft - must have a good space

Anyone interested look on musicrafts facebook - there will be pictures of my set up - but only just sent them so might take a few days

Also these amps like to warm up before sounding good. When u first switch it on the sound is very flat and then after about 3 songs springs to life. Some cds are much better sounding than others. And when i had the roksan the same was true but now good recording are miles better and actually suprise you like the band is in your room. A song of mothers milk by rhcp was mind blowing even listening from the kitchen.

Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic was pretty good! (but it went downhill from there pretty quickly...)

I've not heard your amp but you obviously love it which is great. The speakers though I can comment on and they are wonderful. I listened to La Traviata last night, playing the DVD through my Blu-Ray and tv and using the SA8005 as a DAC and I was in heaven. A live recording from the Saltzburg Festival in 2005 featuring Netrebko, Villazon and Hampson and I could have been there. If anyone wants speakers for opera they should look no further.

Hi yes i can agree on that my taste is more heavy stuff but ive played al divo cd and it sounds great.

Katie melua 'the house' is out of this world

The hegel brings something to all recordings that was missing with the roksan.

So much more layers and texture to the notes
Cds ive listened to 1000 times seem to have notes echos and even tones i never heard before.
