Hello,

i bought a pair of Klipsch x10i headphones 2 years ago and only used them a couple of times a year until 2 months ago when I started walking to work.

Anyway the headphone jack has split and the wires are exposed. I have taped it to add some extra support but would like to get them repaired if possible.

Does anyone know of anywhere that does such repairs? I am in Edinburgh but happy to post if need be.

Thank you.

I use them every night for about 2 years when I go to bed, all the support sleeves split, no problem. The cat ate the cable completely cutting it in half no chance of repair. Got a temp replacement Soundmagic E10 I think £25 from RS brilliant sound and build,to be honest I'm not going to replace them for a while they are that good.

Replacement jack is about £1.49 from Maplins or a million and one places online, just solder it up yourself. It's not rocket science there's only three conductors (left, right, and ground) in a headphone cable, you can teach yourself a useful skill in the process.

I'm an ex electronics engineer, there seemed to be 4 wires in the cable vol, mic sound etc all the thickness of a Natts chuff, I would of needed a microscope and a plastic surgeon to fix mine, then again my eyes are not what they used to be! Then again I was never a very good one!

Ah fair enough I thought it was just regular headphone cable. Mind you I've soldered wires in a GL75 tonearm when one of them broke at the pivot, and that was like soldering gnat pubes, so I guess it's just that I'm not easily scared anymore lol.
