If budget was not an issue, which would be the better set up: Sugden MasterClass CD Player and their HA4 Headphone Amp or Cyrus CD 8 together with HP4 Tim De Paravicini Headphone Amp Many thanks for your comments

Impossible to say without an audition. I would suggest you look at price and features as much as any review of sound and spend more time checking out headphones as they make the biggest difference IMO.
