Hi,

I recently wall mounted a Pioneer 5090 Plasma and
connected a Chord HDMI 1.3 Silver plus cable to one of the rear hdmi sockets.
The space between the rear of the unit and the wall is not overly large and the
cable now has a sharp right angle bend in it right up tight to the male socket.
I'm afraid that this in time will damage either the cable or the socket. I have
heard of right angle hdmi adaptors being available and contacted Chord to see
if they produced such an item. They don't. Chord also stated that this should
not be a problem with the cable.

Has anybody seen or better still used one of these adaptors and if so was
there any problem with using them. Where can they be purchased? Any help
gratefully accepted.

I recentley bought a couple of these (that are adjustable) from www.cablesandmore.co.uk as I have already installed my wires in the wall and after changing my tv to one of the new samsung LED backlight type with a different HDMI input position, changing to a new VHD 180 would be impossible.

I have noticed no drop in picture quality, (sound routed threw amp) and the CEC connection capabilities still works between my amp/TV/Bluray player, so I assume they must be 1.3a/b compliant.

Hope this helps.

Tonestar1:I'm pretty sure VDH have just brought out a right angled cable. This would save you using an adapter(extra joint)

Yep, the van Den Hul 180 - review here - is angled, though still won't suit all set-ups, as shown above.
