HDMI? help please!

🙂Hello Everyone,
I am a new member,and my first post relates to which HDMI cables to use?I am ultra dum when it comes to Tech/Audio/Cinema matters!!
I am in the market for a new tv + a soundbar+Subwoofer/s
I wish to use my laptop as server,my laptop has one HDMI(Normal size)?I have tried to see which HDMI cables go where e.t.c. But decided I needed help!
do TVs have more than one HDMI Sockets?do sound bars connect with TVs through normal sized HDMI sockets?
Help really appreciated.....

It’s probably very rare these days to see a TV with just one HDMI socket. As this tends to be THE connection these days, TVs have multiple.

If all of your devices have a standard sized HDMI cable (as opposed to the mini version) then it should as simple as connecting the Laptop to the TV and the TV to the soundbar. The laptop should go to any HDMI except ARC/eARC which is the socket the soundbar would connect to.

As for what cables, I just use HDMI cables from Poundland and if I need anything longer I just go on eBay or Amazon. Amazon basics are decent.
