Halloway:Slight thread hijack:
I am looking to put together a surround speaker package which omits the subwoofer. Although I do watch movies in surround, I am more interested in music. The reason I am a bit anti-sub is that I have a very small square living room and where ever I place the sub I can hear it as a separate entity. Also, I am not really into big bass.
The QAcoustic 1010 small bookshelf speakers get good reviews as stereo speakers. If I were to get two pairs plus the matching centre, do you think that would be adequate as a budget music surround system?
*edit*
As an alternative, how about using the 1030 floorstanders as the fronts and the 1010s as rears?
My old Sony amp has the option to omit the sub, which sends all the base signals (sorry, non techie talk
) to my Mordaunt Short front free-standers.
I get all the base "Rumble" I need from action movies etc, and have used it this way for 9 years.
I would imagine all receiver amps have this option?
