Have they lost their edge?

Why is it getting increasingly difficult to find a range of prices for the once much vaulted Panasonic TH42PZ70B. I find so many of the 80 series on offer but this one seems to have all but disappeared. Only just in the market for a new screen, so is this so old now and has it lost it's edge. Any and all info on this model welcome, I am aware of the lowest web price but why have they stopped selling?

Probably because of the newer model the Panasonic TH42PZ80/85B.

The old models get discontinued when the new models come in.
