Hey been looking around working out the Harmony one, on the hope that the delivery guy comes tomorrow as he was supposed to be here on the 31st, but oh well.

Anyway, it says I can add Sky one pictures ect. on the touch screen, I am sure I will figure out how to put them on the remote, but how does the remote know which chanel is sky one once I press the picture Icon.

Do I need to add these channels into my favs on the sky box first, or does it just know?

Thanks

You'll have to allocate the channel number to each icon. It's not psychic, you know.

You don't need to change anything on your sky box. There is a section of the Harmony software where you can setup favourites. You basically put in a channel number, name, choose an icon and where on the touch pad you want it to appear. It's all very simple.

For channel icons check out: http://www.iconharmony.com/icons/home

Ha Ha, I just thought once you put the Model number of the sky box in, it would know which is which.

I dont ask for too much eh!

Am sure I will be spending about 2-3 days setting it up just right.

Thanks Bigboss

Seems easier that my 515 software.

Love my ONE after about a week. Setup takes time to get spot on - still adjusting. Number One rule - make sure u have the EXACT model number for your kit. The software is not great but has lots of features.

Good luck !

iconharmony.com for your pretty icons in favourites.

Cheers

Yes the colour icons are already built into the Harmony for use on TV activities.

If your colour buttons are not in the particular 'Activity' that you wish - thn label them Red, Blue etc and not RED or red - that way you get the button coloured backgrounds.

If your TV ON button needs to be held down for a second or two then A) Make sure you tell harmony that you have a separate ON and OFF command (although yours is actually a toggle ON/OFF) AND increase the ON timing.

The macros (harmony call them a Sequence) are useful to exit menus for example - from the planner EXIT button will remove all the sub menus and one button press takes u back to the screen.

AND - When U update the remote remember to turn everything OFF before you go into an Activity.

Well - thats all for now - I've probably saved U about 2 days work !

Cheers & good luck

Well all up and running, logitech are amazing, transfered all my files from my 515 to the one.

Also changed the names as watch blu-ray and AC RYAN which is awsome.

Took me 30 min, all in all.

Now just going to get the icons for sky hd on it, and make some fine tunning adjustments and sorted.

Wicked remote Thanks guys

Hey got a problem were I have the icons and when I press the button it starts pressing the chanels for me, but it sometimes does not enter the last digit.

Do I have to ammend the timings ? and to what?

Thanks so much

Possibly but the timings will be dependent on your kit so you need to play around with it

Hi,

Is it the same channels each time or random channels?

Do you keep line of sight between the remote and the SKY box?

The timings on the remote should be programmed by default for a SKY digibox (I haven't changed mine anyways!)

Have you checked the settings for the icons (i.e. checked you have fully programmed each button with the correct channel number).

Cheers,

Happy 1000 post.

I have not changed anything and it works sometimes. but sometimes it doesnt.

This line of site is terrible for a 150.00 remote, and for the sake of a small z-chip, they could not be bothered.

Anyway of getting around this line of site thing? Not like my stuff is tucked away, but its bothering me that I need to hold and point my remote directly at my tv while it turns everything off.

Thanks

canada16,

I have a Harmony One and have never exerienced line of sight problems. My TV has a horizontal separation of about 10' from the other AV components and I find that provided the remote is aimed generally towards the middle then it will always swithch all relevant components. Sometimes my wife forgets and points it directly at the TV or the AV stuff then it may fail with the other kit but it's not something that is a problem. On the contrary, I was surprised at how wide-field it is.

Hi,

Line of sight - the remote can actually see the infrared receiver on each piece of equipment. I didn't mean pointing directly at each individual bit of kit as it cycled through each operation.

Depending on seating position there could be an ornament in the way or it could be that while using the remote he's pressing the channel icon then placing the remote on a table at an awkward angle? I was only trying to rule out the obvious.

I have line of sight issues when the kids place the remote on a table close to my kit because of the height of the table it blocks out the line of sight to the amp (lowest positioned piece of kit) and sometimes it doesn't turn off.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

So you have had line of sight issues...this is precisely the situation I was referring to.

Hi,

Just make sure where you input the details of the icons and entered channel numbers that all 3 channel numbers were accepted...or four if it was a radio programme. (Presuming this was for SKY and not on your tele?).

Cheers,
