I've been thinking about this all morning. What is the greatest intro of any song in your collection?

I narrowed it down to two in mine: Love spreads by the Stone Roses and Hysteria by Muse. I think Hysteria just edges it.

The sound of a tube train pulling into the station and... "the distant echo.....". The Jam at their finest.

Pink Floyd - Time

Goldfrapp - Lovely Head

Hotel California - Eagles

Kate Bush - Running up that hill

Many others, but I'll have to rack my brain!

Edit: Oh and The Who - Don't get fooled again (can't forget that!)

There's so many. Where to begin.

Where The Streets Have No Name - U2

Battery - Metallica (First Metallica song I heard. Was totally blown away when the song 'changed' to the metal riffs)

She Sells Santuary - The Cult (Has to be the long version. Builds up the anticipation)

Welcome Home - Coheed and Cambria

Blitzkrieg Bop - Ramones

Everlong - Foo Fighters

Best non-intro

The Wagon - Dinosaur Jnr. (Straight into the action, no meesing about)
