Hi guys, i'm looking for a bit of advice and have found everyone said i should ask you guys what's the best and most reliable TV for around £800.

I've previously had 2 Samsung LCD TV's (both 720p) - 26" & 32". I am now looking at a 40" 1080P tv if possible. I'm open to all suggestions, LCD, LED, Plasma....i really don't have a clue! I'm not in any rush, i'll be buying one at the end of the month so looking into it for now.

Any help is greatly appreciated! 😀

EDIT: I do quite a bit of gaming and own an XBOX 360 if that's of any use also!

maxflinn:does it have to be a maximum of 40in?

i'm looking for 40" minimum tbh 🙂 . cheers for taking the time to help also!!

ok, the samsung 40c750 is bang on £800, it gets very good reviews, and is actually a 3dtv, you would need to buy the glasses seperately..

or if you're not interested in 3d you could look at the sony 40ex503, again, very good reviews and a great price at £600..

they are both lcd's, you could also check out the panasonic 42g20 plasma, good reviews also, £730..

all the above have freeview hd, the panasonic also has freesat hd, id defo shortlist those three, they seem to be the best around at the size/price..

Thanks alot for your time maxflinn, i think the first samsung you mentioned looks perfect, exactly what i'm looking for! i'll have an in depth look at it in the morning.

I've never used RicherSounds before, do i have to pick it up in-store? My nearest one is in Glasgow 🙂

Cheers again mate!!

no problem, im not sure if richer sounds deliver, best to give them a ring? if you're a series gamer then the plasma has the lowest input lag, although the samsung could be fine, ill check that out and post here later..

just checked a review and it says the c750 is fine for most games but not the best for games that require lighting fast responses, i dont know if that would be an issue for you? but seeing as you can use 3d games on it, it may be a compromise worth making? if you have a ps3 you're good to go with 3d games or movies once you update the ps3's firmware, which is free and can be easily done..

Yes, Richer Sounds will deliver. I bought a Samsung tv from RS Glasgow last week actually, and although I picked it up, they did offer to deliver. Best to ring them beforehand anyway, to make sure they have it in stock.
