Good quality 8K receiver

Iam currently the owner of an Yamaha RX-a2060 receiver. Although everyone is very enthousiastic about this receiver, iam not. Function-wise it is just perfect, but when it comes to audio quality i have been disappointed from the start. I have tried everything to optimize the sound, but can't get it to perform nearly as good as my previous Marantz SR8200.

Iam looking to (again) switch over to a new receiver, but as i know myself; once 8K is getting somewhat mainstream i will want to have it.

Do you have any advice on if i could/should already buy a receiver now which can be upgraded once 8K has really arrived? Or maybe there are already good receivers with 8K on board? Or should i wait? If it is not needed to wait, which receiver do you advice?

I would worry about 8K when it’s settled - a good few years yet.

First of all, thanks all for your reaction. As iam also a gamer, and because 8K consoles will be launching end of this year, it could be that somewhere next i will want to step over to 8K. That's the main reason for this question.

It's unlikely to be ready for 8K though.

Personally, I’d not worry about an AV receiver passing 8K - any product that will be 8K (whatever that will be) will/should, like most 4K Bluray players, have dual HDMI outputs, so you just take a video feed via one to your 8K TV. Just as I previously did for my 4K player.

You could always add a power amplifier for the front speakers (if you mean the audio in stereo for music).

Most 4K Bluray players, have dual HDMI outputs, so you just take a video feed via one to your 8K TV.
