Goldring 2400

Just fitted one to me SL-1800 and comparing to both a much cheaper technics 270C and a Technics 205C mk2 with a Jico Boron SAS stylus. The latter have a bit of a cult following, and easy to understand why, but I actually prefer the Goldring. It's noticeably brighter that probably suits my ageing ears, but the detail retrieval is comparable, with a tighter leaner bass than the 205. At the discounted price of £300 I'm impressed enough to keep it fitted.

Yes they are, so they are a moving iron design. Interestingly, Nagaoka also made the Technics carts too. I'd love to hear an MP200 against the Goldring, and the Technics; especially latter as the Jico stylus has a boron cantilever and a line contact diamond.
