👍 I never left them behind either 👍Go back to????? 🙂
And you can get them really cheaply these days....👍 I never left them behind either 👍
The reliable sound quality and physical ownership /collection side kept bringing the the old addage "If it ain't broke" to mind
i don't consider it a CD revival, they never really went away unlike the ability to find new vinyl.First, a vinyl revival, then cassette tapes and now CD, exactly as I predicted ages ago.
Thing is, if you rip your CDs to FLAC files and store them, these files are lossless versions and will sound the same.
I quite understand his sentiment about the studio's messing with the CD original recordings, though it's unlikely I'll go out to buy the CD if I still have the original. Unless of course it's damaged but I'll try and get it second hand, knowing it wasn't bastardised by studio engineers with wonky hair who think they know better.Interesting video.

Not too sure why you would want to do that if you already own a CD player.....I do anyway but that's to put them on my DMP.First, a vinyl revival, then cassette tapes and now CD, exactly as I predicted ages ago.

Interesting device, unfortunately showing as unavailable everywhere....My next CD player, transport actually, will be the SMSL PL200T simply because you can see the CD spin, being a top loader with a transparent lid. Also means one less thing to go wrong, also has a selectable upsampling i2s output to make it more fireproof. You can also select the coax and optical outputs to upsample up to a less 24/192.
It's on AliExpress £496, some vendors offering free delivery.Interesting device, unfortunately showing as unavailable everywhere....
just a pity that, especially with I2S output, they didn't make it an SACD transport. It's on AliExpress £496, some vendors offering free delivery.
Yes shame that, something to do with Sony SACD/Blu-ray licensing policy, they charge a hefty fee.just a pity that, especially with I2S output, they didn't make it an SACD transport.
If they had I would have bought it on the spot.....
MQA is dead as far as I am concerned, and one format that I have never used, so don't know why they make a big thing about it.
It's going to be hard to find a replacement for my Oppo when it eventually dies....
Still waiting for someone to make a transport that will cater for CD, SACD and bluray audio. Guess I am looking for a unicorn although it must be technically possible. 😎
Sony 4K Blu-ray players support SACD, as do Magnetar 4K Blu-ray players, the latter being ideal if your OPPO fails.just a pity that, especially with I2S output, they didn't make it an SACD transport.

Thanks for a positive video for person like me, walking backwards, collecting CD, vinyls, CCs..., listening also to analogue FM radio and still no streamer😆.Interesting video.

Just missing the blu ray audio replay.
yes, I know, and Reavon which are cheaper than the Magnatar.Sony 4K Blu-ray players support SACD, as do Magnetar 4K Blu-ray players, the latter being ideal if your OPPO fails.

it's a pity it's £1624......![]()
Wow, UK designed! Looks fab. Not sure how they get around what I thought was copy protection for SACD but I’m sure it’s hardly a major issue.
