It was a pretty dull issue anyway to be fair (personal opinion).

What can we look forward to in the next edition?

Same old yawnsome stuff, probably. Not even worth nicking. I wouldn't bother if I were you. Oh and a cartridge group test.

Also interview with Lord Lucan on his hi-fi habits, Reader Rescue in Atlantis and exclusive review of Star Wars on Blu-ray*

That do you?

Plus an article entitlled ' How pants would your car have to be to have a magazine (no matter how superb) stolen but nothing else touched ?'

Octopo:What's the street value of a WHF mag these days?

Well once it's stripped for parts, re-sprayed and all the serial numbers filed off. I'd guess as much as £1.50.

Clare Newsome:Is nothing sacred?! Will email you to get address and then send you a replacement...

That's a nice gesture 🙂

Ahem. My house burnt down and then next 12 issues were destroyed. When they are released could you please send them to...

No point - there won't even be a letterbox left...

, and Andrew too. You do get a little precious about criticism I've noticed though (don't you Andrew?).

My comments about the mag being a tad dull was, as I said, personal opinion. There wasn't much that I personally wanted to read about, but I'm sure there was plenty of content to please others. It's generally a good mag and you can't please everyone all of the time - I'll be sure to buy the next edition.

However, I do have on issue that I'd like answering if you don't mind. What was the point of the budget AV receivers review, if it wasn't to have another go at promoting the Sony? Never have I read such a limited review - are there no other receivers out there at that price point that you can only include two budget Onkyo's with no HD decoding to compare with the Sony?

Precious, no; indignant when the same totally unjustified allegations are made over...

...and over again.

EDITED BY MODS - please do not discuss moderation.

Ok, so maybe the article wasn't about promoting the Sony. I know that is an old argument, to which you have stated your case strongly on many occassion. Lets forget for a minute the manufacturers involved - why then was it still such a limited review and, moreso, what what was the point of it, when it told us nothing about the winner that you hadn't told us a couple of months previously?

I would assume - though I am no longer directly involved in setting up the tests in the magazine - that those were the only receivers the test team was able to source within the price parameters set for the test.

Ok, thanks for your reply.

Without further insight into the inner workings of the magazine, it does outwardly appear that if nothing else then, it was a bit of a filler.
