Thanks BB cancelled and now ordering the 6500.Looking at the specs, it isn't different to the significantly cheaper 6500 apart from 8500 having 13 channels of amplification which you don't need.
That’s good because it’s going to cost me £180 to have it setup. And I only got a partial refund on the Pioneer sc-lx90 amp! It's actually very easy. Audyssey is very user friendly. Just follow the steps on the screen.
I am going to leave it to the Frank Harvey guy after watching that. Too many bad memories from the Pioneer sc-lx90 setup in that demo. It'll take no more than 30 mins to set it up. The menu will be similar to this:

Between 48 & 55.What volume do you listen to your Denon amp at BB?
Do sit there and watch him closely how he does it. At least you'll know what to do for next time.I am going to leave it to the Frank Harvey guy after watching that. Too many bad memories from the Pioneer sc-lx90 setup in that demo.
Yes, will do.Do sit there and watch him closely how he does it. At least you'll know what to do for next time.
I’ve been told recently by an audio installer that Denon amps are very user friendly.Yes, will do.
Thanks mate. The menus look good and the back of the amp looks quite simple to use.I’ve been told recently by an audio installer that Denon amps are very user friendly.
He actually owned an Arcam 750/850 for about a year but sold it on as it was too complicated for casual use for his family, and bought a Denon X7200WA and much prefers that. Simple to use and great sound and options.
I will give it a go and try and save some money. If you've already asked Phil, that's fine. Audyssey setup is pretty much idiot proof....they start from connections in a step wise manner.
Small, if you have a subwoofer.Do you set speakers to large or small? Do you really have to set it up 8 times?
