Getting quality sound from Airtunes/Arcam setup - help please

Hi all,

Hope one of you guys could help me out.  My set up is as follows:

Arcam A70 Amp
Arcam Diva 73 CD Player
KEF IQ5 speakers

All linked to my PC in another room via an Apple Airport express and monster 3.5mm mini jack to RCA cable to my amp.  Sound quality is OK over airport express (slightly muffled), and am keen to improve this if possible.  I hear the express has a digital out - but am not sure how to link to my Amp (via a DAC?).  Also not sure of which cable I need, or if this would even improve sound quality?

Clearly not an expert, so would appreciate some clear guidance on this one.  Any cable or DAC recommendations (if appropriate) would be appreciated.

Well the basic set up would be:

Airport Express to DAC using a 3.5mm Jack to SPDIF/Toslink then DAC to Amp via standard RCA. (Link is just an example of the cable - you could probably get a better one if required.)

As for what DAC to use I guess that would depend on budget but the Beresford and DAC magic are good DAC's and great value.

The DACMagic certainly is, but I'm using a ten quid maplin toslink cable (with free mini-jack adapter) with perfectly adequate (read: stunning) results.
