Just upgraded from the KEF Q200C to the Q600C having heard good things about it

It's a bit of beast size wise (as they say) but in terms of performance oh so subtle...........!

Seems to have eased into the front set up so naturally and makes the LCR/RCL sweep so natural, without any gaps at all, it is exactly matched to the Q700s in terms of speaker size and from the short listening I've had it is very good tonally, also seems to "wrap around" more

Just a bit pleased.............just a bit!!

What sort of issues were you seeing with the 200C, just out of curiosity? I want to get the Q300s up front but I know I can't accommodate the size of the 600C (because my other half told me so... realistically it'll never fit properly on the shelf the existing speaker sits on). Was the 200C not a good match to the 700s?

IMHO the 200C is not a ideal partner to the Q700's as from my experiance with KEF speakers in a 5.1 set up I've personally found KEFs smaller centre speakers match their stand monds tonally and the larger centre option best partnered to the floorstanders to give a smooth sound across the entire surround sound stage.

True, I was just curious as I think the Q300 has the same size driver as the Q700 (minus the bass drivers of course), so I'd be worried the 200C won't match those either but obviously fayeanddavid won't be able to answer that question, not owning the Q300s.

Now that I have the Q600C I can see the "flaws", but tbh the 200 is a very good speaker, however as mentioned the 600C is tonally matched and just does the business.

Have a word with the OH, managed to sneak mine as it just fitted in the cabinet, something about "that's big" and I've heard no more............

Half a complement yesterday when she did comment that the front was like "a wall of sound".................made me smile

I don't have a cabinet, the speaker sits on a shelf of the TV stand, out in the open (it's a cantilever stand), so it's there for all to see, the shelf isn't anything like wide enough for the 600. I'm not even sure about the 200 on that score to be honest.

Have you room for the 300, the sub will manage the bottom end yes??

If you have it has to be worth a punt, just what would you do with the other speaker??

Might be some takers here or on there forums as a dedicated centre, wasn't it on of the specialist retailers that had the complete set up as Q300s, maybe he can add some advice

Pair of Q300s cheaper than the Q600C

Q700s go quite deep (38Hz or something) so lots of mid to bottom end

6.1 center could work as could flea bay etc
