There are some GSFX in 3 different finishes on an auction site just now, £350 each or nearest offer! Might get a pair for £600???

That is just a stupid price, I have the wifes credit card today ready to buy, but she said I can only buy the RXFX, I wonder what she would say if I bought the GSFX

They must have sold, as cant see them on the site.

They're still there, but appear to be in Spain from a Business seller.

Dont think I will take that risk, as I dont think MA will cover that warranty, but I could be wrong.

Still over budget anyway.

Only ask as Sevenoaks (Southampton) have some ex-display RXFX in Black Ash at £299.

Sevenoaks (Sevenoaks) are listing some Ex-display RS-CX at £99 each...

I'm planning on buying the BR5 5.1 system with BR2's for rears. Does this mean that I should be looking to position them on the behind wall, a lot higher than I originally planned on stands??

Depends what you're going to listen to in the main. Music = stands, Surround sound effects = higher. (IMO)

Should have stated that first really. It'll be used for 95% home cinema. If that is the case, I may look at getting the BRFX or even the RXFX. Unless anyone thinks the BR2's are a decent enough speaker when wall mounted?

I think the BR2 are way to big to wall mount, as my RX1 were way to big and heavy.

I would opt for the FX series, or direct fire R90HD

You can get the BRFX for stupid cheap and if they are going behind you and sofa is right on the wall set to bi/pole and have them 1-2 feet above the listning position, or you can go even higher, even up towards the ceiling

I would echo what Canda said, although you could buy brackets to wall mount the BR2's, they would look huge wall mounted.

I feel you always get a better surrond sound rear stage from a bi/dipole type speakers and it's personal preference how high you mount them, but I like to have the sound move over my head, just like in commercial cinemas.

I'm lucky as my room is a perfect rectangle, with my TV and front speakers on the shortest wall (if that make sense) so I have my RXFX on the side walls, slightly behind my sofa (3/4 down the room facing the TV) with my RXFX mounted just below the coving.

Hey Canada

Hope you get them the right height first time round, or she might just notice the walls full of holes !

Thats my problem, I drill holes then put the speakers up and then decide I dont like them there.

Then I move them up again, and again.

I got to go to b&q and get some paint and sort the house out, I got white trunking up the wall from were the MS Alumni were, and when you take that off it takes the paint off as well.

The wife is working all day saturday, so might go then and tell the kids to help, they are only 4 and 2, but they love to drill stuff and they would probably be better at it
