These really do look gorgeous and I popped along to the Hi-Fi show at Heathrow this morning and saw them at the Focal stand.

Focal are French and they have a page of links to reviews on their site, but sadly all in French. Even What Hi-Fi in France has reviewed them. So what is the consensus in the UK? They're pretty new with the Dome model, but they are a very very high end speaker manufacturer. Their top model is being re-launched as we speak and costs over £180,000 a pair. (Nuts, but gorgeous). There is a whole other world when you look at the 2 channel specialists.

So, is their a view on the Domes? Andrew or Claire? Anyone heard them? http://www.focal.tm.fr/

Come on, someone at What Hi-Fi must have heard these speakers, they're supercute (as they say in La France!). Ok, you're probably all doing far more important things on a Saturday night, like having a life.

Speaking of which, I suppose I'd better too! ;-)

I agree, it is beyond time that these should have been reviewed. I auditioned them yesterday at Audio-T next to the Kef 3005 and B&W MT-30 PV1 packages and except for the sub I think they were comparable, they have the same price tag as the MT-30s. In the focals benefit is their musicality and for me better spacial seperation at the slight loss (comparatively) for some dynamics.

However I am no expert so I would be very keen to see what the "experts" think. Certainly the guys at my Audio-T feel they are a better overal package than the Kef and B&W packages.

I listened to them in action at a shop in Warsaw, as I am always on the hunt of good looking home cinema speakers. They sound OK, but the price is much toooooo high! I think the B&W are better. The sound they produce somehow reminded me of Mirage's Nanosat Premier- they even look a bit alike. Good speakers, nice treble, ugly price.

OK, I know this thread's old, but I have an interest in these speakers and would also like to know what the experts think.

Are these likely to be reviewed?.................. Andrew, Claire et al ?

Looking for a review of the same, it's not as if the market is over populated by £1500 style systems!

I thought Andrew at least would've had something to say, even if it's...........don't bother!

Just bought this set up with a Pioneer KRP500, Denon AVR3310 & DBP2010 Bluray. The Domes sounded fabulous to my ears, far more musical than the B&W MT30 package. The demo was only through the AVR1910 so I am expecting even better results with the more powerful 3310.

Quite right, for some bizarre reason these reviewers are avoiding answering dozens of requests for comparison of the Focal Domes....a pity, it might even rival the KEF 3005 SE's!

I would do, but currently living in a country that would only import on special order, no demo option unfortunately...hence really value views and reviews from UK publications and Forums (esp as, when available and without pages ripped out by local authorities, each copy of WHF costs approx 5 times a much here as it would in the UK!)
