flickering brightness

my new 46w4000 from JL has started flickering from normal to dull when showing dark scenes with not much light. most noticable at the end credits. this is only apparant through the hdmi not on sky with scart(rgb).

picture and audio set up with thx dvd.

It could be you backlight dimming to improve black levels my old sony LCD used to do this.....if it is it isnt a fault.

Have you tried turning off any auto contrast setting ('enhanced auto constrast' or similar)?
