Just bought this h-phones and I'm very disappointed. Despite of panegyric reviews, it sounds like a grinding machine. Low freqs are depressed, and high are too expressed. The source is ASUS Xonar Essence STX with UNi driver and foobar2000 w/ASIO, flac ~1000 kbps, ape ~1100 kbps. Should I wait for heating up or just throw it away?

I've had lots of trouble with ASIO, so try playing through the headphone jack using the standard codec in your player first, to make sure the headphone is the problem. If it is, then if the cable is detachable, try plugging in another cable to see if that fixes it.

There's no crucial difference between foobar ASIO and WMP. The cable is detachable, but it's 6.3 stereo to 2x3.5 mono, not the most popular type.

As far as I know, Fisher 003 is same as the Brainwavz HM5, and the HM5 signature matches your description.
