First Home Cinema Suggestions, Confused!!! Budget of £500

Called my local Richer Sounds today and they don't have any Onkyo's in yet!

Then the guy trying to sell me the Sr578 telling me the difference between that and the Onkyo sr608, telling me the 578 lets you even know if you have a speaker connected wront and blah blah blah!

Also called The Home Conema Centre, then peter Tyson who were giving a lead for sub but too short at 3m length!

I will try hifi4less tomorrow and see what they can do for me. If I can't get much sorted, think i will have to take the use 3 different stores to get everything.

Just when you've made your mind up and know what you're getting, more obstacles! It would be better to get all things from one store, but s*** happens as they say with my little touch (in mysterious ways)

Hi HHT I went into HIFI4less today for sub cable, Dave told me you rang but for some reason he thought you was me when he said he had your email but it was mine he had, give him a phone call and he will take yours of you.

I found it funny when he told me he already had my email address! He told me he got it off the forum so i was a little puzzled how? I thought ok, maybe he has

I told him i was recommended by yourself but somehow he presumed I was you.

I will give him a call tomorrow and pass on my address. thanks for suggesting hifi4less. Dave seems a good and honest guy (unlike some of the people I've spoken to). His advice was also very good on some of the other products.

Hopefully I can get sorted soon and enjoy surround sound

Hi Nick,

Yes, you did have them in stock and can't remember the price? I thought I'd also call around to see where I can get the best deal. I have been advised to get 72 strand (I think) speaker cable at a pund a metre that will do the job? I was meant to call into your store today and try to speak to you but had a few other problems to sort out!

If you're open tomorrow, i will give you a call.

I'm trying to get the best deal possible as whatever i save on the system, i can spend on the cables and maybe get a blu ray movie too

Called THCC and couldn't get hold of Nick, tried again yesterday and not in (I know the reason why so all good).

I have been offered the Onkyo SR578 for £40 more than the SR508. Apart from the upscaling, is there any other difference? Would this amp be ok with the Jamo's? Is it worth the extra few quid?
