Hi,
I'm looking for a pair of speakers to upgrade the ones I'm currently using (a pair of small Kef q1).
I am considering two options I've seen in second hand in my country for roughly the same price:
- Klipsch rf 35 (https://www.blu-ray.com/Klipsch-RF-35/15278/)
- Kef iq9 (https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/kef/iq9.shtml)
Any advice?

They would go with a Yamaha A-s300 amplifier (60 W per channel at 8 ohms)
Do you think this amp will be enough to drive either one properly or shall I stick to my small Kef q1?

Thanks a lot!

That amplifier will drive either of those speakers with no problem.
Much will depend on the size of room you intend to use them in.

Thanks a lot, AI ears that's very helpful. It's not a very large room, so I think I'll be fine. Do you have any suggestion on which is the speakers would you choose? Thanks!

Tricky. You might find the bass levels from both of them to be too much in a small room.
It's very personal but I would take the KEF, only because I have never heard the Klipsch

I've heard the A-S 300 with a pair of Kef R300. It sounded the biz. Budget Yams tend to match well with any of the KEF Q or R ranges

I have a friend that uses the iq9's to this day. Not only are the unapologetically large and i mean large the scale of the sound is huge, he has 4 of them in a surround config. TBH Ive never heard anything like it for such a modest outlay. They are in a 11x11 meter room and that's only just cutting it for 4 speakers.

If you're your room is the typical size UK room 3-4meters long/wide then the sound will be borderline,
any smaller then you'll probably suffer a lot of boom. If that's the case and iq5 would be a better fit.

they sound great though and very much a product of the early 2000's

never heard the Klipsch from that time
