Just picked up a classic 2nd hand for £70 and really glad I made the jump to a streamer rather than my PC. Had intended to use iPeng but actually quite like the remote, very easy to use. Impressed with the quality of sound, however side by side, I decided to keep my Arcam Black Box 1 DAC as although the classic is quite refined, my 20yr old black box still sounds far more exciting to listen to despite its flaws.

Has anyone got any advice as to make sure I'm getting the most out of the setup, e.g. any file type settings in the server or must have plugins. Also whats the difference between running the classic in the mysqueezebox.com menu. I know its how you use/change apps directly with the classic and has more radio options? but have to revert back to home to get my actual music again, I don;t really see the point of it?

I have a duet not a classic so some of my comments may be incorrect.

The recommended file format is FLAC although others will work - see here:

In terms of switching between mysqueezebox and your own music this was an irritation of an earlier version of the software. You should be able to see your "my music" option and internet radio etc in the same menu The latest version works seamlessly between the two. Have you got the latest version on the controller?

Napster is a good plugin and well worth £5 a month.
