I need to sort out external storage. The 2nd hard drive on my PC is almost full. I was going to take this drive and buy another and put them both into this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hornettek-Enterprise-Enclosure-Capacity-Swappable/dp/B006ZLTI56/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1385041088&sr=8-2&keywords=nas+4+bay
That'd be my storage for the PC connected directly to the PC.
For networked storage there's a few options. Firstly I could go cheap and get this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/D-Link-ShareCenter-Network-Storage-Enclosure/dp/B008HNRD4I/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1385030579&sr=8-6&keywords=nas
That has 2 bays. Mixed reviews but they mostly seem software related.
Secondly:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Buffalo-Linkstation-Performance-Multimedia-Network/dp/B005BCU0DO/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1385030579&sr=8-16&keywords=nas
Also 2 bays but includes 6TB of storage. It's a couple of years old as well.
Lastly:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BJ1BGB6/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=computers#productDetails 4 bays.
New this year, reviewed ok but the priciest option.
Any opinions on those three NAS drives? I would use the NAS day-to-day and the Hornettek as my back up.
Does this solution sound ok?
