Experience connecting Ipod directly to Audiolab 8200cd?

I wonder if anyone has any experience connecting an Ipod directly to an Audiolab 8200cd USB connection? I'm currently using a Russ Andrews GQ24 directly to amp (which sounds good), but wondered if there would be an improvement in sound by bypassing the Ipod DAC with the Audiolab's?
