I have been offered an ex display Pioneer 9th gen for £1600 Im assured it was on for display for 3 months however 10 hours a day seems a lot should this put me off?

depends on the price, but yes it probably would put me off

I think you can access the data in the set, from the remote, to tell you how long it has been on for, which would give you a sense of what portion of its life has been used. If it really has been 3 months even at 10 hours a day then probably not too big a problem, but I would consider this like second hand, and therefore biiiiggggg discount.

Seems like a good deal to me if the TV is working perfectly. Ask if they can give you a 5 year warranty on it. It's been on display for only 3 months, although Pioneer stopped making them 1 year back??

Depends what it's been displaying all that time: if it's been run at maximum contrast and high brightness with largely static images I might give it a miss: if it's been set up properly and just shown conventional broadcast/DVD/BD content, it should be fine (and nicely run-in)

I had a 3rd gen pioneer for 7 yrs my brother in law has it now and it's still going strong. For a considerable amount of time (alot more than 3 months) it was virtually on 14 hrs a day untill i decided our family veiwing habbits were a tad excesive and we modrated our veiwing habbits to more sensible levels. So to your question providing you get a warranty with the set i wouldn't let it put you of.

I would be asking why a screen that sold out in September last year was put on display in April. I would also be wary as to why a high demand product such as the Kuro has remained unsold for three months.

All of the Pioneer screens we have traded in over the last five or six months have sold within a week or so and we are not a high traffic store.

If it is ex-display you will get a five year warranty so at least you have peace of mnd that way. I wouldnt worry about usage, you will change your TV long before the three months of display use makes an impact on performance. Check for image retention and dead pixels first though.
