Hello, my system doesn't provide a balance audio reproduction. My headphones have so much bass than needed, I think this affects all the frequencies like mids or highs. So I did some research and look for some audio test to do an eq preset. So finally, I have my preset done. I reduced about 4 or 5 db the bass frequencies especially 125 hz. The mids are untouched but I improved the high frequencies about 3 or 2 db. Now, I get a better and less muddy sound. My question, how this affects the overall quality besides balance and the sound profile. Is it as effecitive as having a flat sound without any eq outside of the box? How soundtage and imaging could differ with the new changes in frequencies?

What headphones? What source?
Don't blame for this (Sony WH-1000XM3 wired, Samsung S10e Exynos and Integrated EQ. ) . I bought this setup because it was simple and I could use it anywhere. The Sony's sound signature is too much bass for me, so that's why I did it. I don't know a lot about EQ honestly, so that's why I asked.
