Well if reports from last night Oasis gig in Paris are true, and after their falure to play at Reading last week, it appears that Noel can no longer put up with Liam anymore.

Well I may be alone but thank God! I don't like their music for one thing but the thought of not having to listen to the 2 of them going on about how fantastic they are etc etc is just bliss.

I could not possibly agree with you more.

Saw them a few years ago in Milton Keynes (free tickets) and was really underwhelmed. Not a very exciting live show. The crowd was pretty horrible too, felt pretty threatening. Can't say I'm sorry to see them go.

If that is true news, it is great!

Over hyped rubbish music... They could only sing one octave, and that was rubbish!

Good riddence to rubbish.

PS I laughed when he had his teeth knocked out lol

Sorry AE, this time PP has you beaten to quip of the day. I really did LOL to this one....

If I had a pound every time they split I would have four quid now. . . .lol

Same. I used to enjoy some of their stuff back in the 90s but they are totally overhyped now. I wished they would stop polluting festival lineups, and it looks like I will get that wish 🙂

Whatever happened to the original rebel from Manchester, Freddie Garrety?

Ahhhh.....Andrew remains the undefeated quick quip king. Oasis will be back together by the time this thread has run its course anyway.

Agreed, they will be back together soon for a spectacular reunion show/tour. I feel sorry for the fans who had tickets for the gig. Maybe they will prove me wrong and stay apart (one can hope)

Does it matter? I've not heard a note of their last several albums unless i wanted to, nor heard or read any interviews unless deliberately. What i mean is, those implying theyve forced themselves on you are probably being a bit...well...wrong, eh?

File me under couldnt care less either way.

Now now... Admittedly their most recent albums haven't been great (although there have been some great individual songs), Definitely Maybe and What's the Story were awesome albums packed with great tunes and the band has made some some extremely fine B Sides. Even the most blinkered anti-Oasis fan has to admit that. Or perhaps not...

Indeed, in fact I'd go as far to say as some of their early B Sides were better songs than made the first few albums - D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman?, It's Better People, Round Are Way and Step Out being stand out examples for me.

Some of their early material was brilliant - with Oasis, it's the whole package that leaves a rotten (johnny) taste in the mouth. I resent their "i don't give a monkey's" attitude.

I grew up in the punk and new wave era, so people with attitude doesn't affect me, but they aren't convincing. They just make me cringe.
