Easy to use DVD recorder/harddrive

Hi,

Can anyone help!my father is 75 and his "old video recorder" has seen better days can anyone recomend a easy to use dvd/harddrive recorder, we have been looking at the panasonic DMR-EX768BK, however the write up suggests it is complecated to set up and use.

Does it have to have a DVD recorder in it? My Humax 9200 is child's play, whereas my FiL's DVDR/HDD is a nightmare.
