Hi All,

I am looking for a suitable speaker to go with my newly purchased Marantz pm6004.

I am currently considering the Dynaudio dm2/7, however, I am a bit concerned if the pm6004 has sufficient strength to drive the dm2/7.

The reason for considering these speakers is that I have a fairly large living room; I listen to various styles of music, and I have laminate (and no carpets). As alternative, I am considering the dm2/6, possibly the MA BX2 or some floorstanders - Tannoy mercury v4, Q Acoustics 2050i.

Any insights are much appreciated :)

Well from the reviews the Dynaudios seem to need a punchy amp and some volume. Also I have read on other forums that the 6004 is abit lightweight for a 45W amp and is best partnered with sensitive speakers, so maybe not the best combo. I would try the Rega RS1s if you can, about £440. Floorstanders again may need some driving.

Hi, thanks for your advise.

I'm in the Netherlands, and checking the prices, it is within my budget, but a bit difficult to find.
