Connecting through HDMI a Samsung Blue Ray DVD recorder ( BD-F8500m/XU ) to a Panasonic TV TH-37PX7B.The only problem seems to be that the Samsung Remote cannot fully control the TV. It will change channels, but will not alter volume or switch on or off the TV.

I have been in touch with Samsung, but no joy yet. Can anybody help please ?

Samsung and Panasonic remotes are usually incompatible with each other. At least all the ones I've ever tried were. I'm surprised it will even change the channels.

I'm assuming you have entered codes in the sammy remote to control the panny TV, what codes have you tried?

Just get a one4all remote.

I have entered all 4 codes in the manual i.e. 53, 54, 74 and 75.

I have previously bought a a Panasonic DVD recorder, but the WIFI didn't work properly.

I like the samsung because it enabled me to get rid of my old DVD player and the WIFI is trouble free.

Can you suggest one that I can try, and it works with one remote ?
