When do you think dvd's will cease to be produced in favour of blu-rays only, do you think it will be in the next year or two or longer, the reason I ask is I have found a really good Pioneer dvd player that I would like for the bedroom but if I can't get dvd's soon then theres no point buying it.

Although I don't have a crystal ball, I'd say it won't be for a long time. It all depends on how well Blu-rays start selling, which really comes down to the price they sell at, or if home broadband starts getting to the levels where downloads start taking over in a similar way to music and CDs (though film downloads obviously take up a lot more space so would require significant download speeds for this to become mainstream).

As long as there is significant demand for them (and there still is) DVDs will continue to be sold.
